仲尼曰：
君子中庸；
小人反中庸。
1. Zhongni bersabda, “Seorang 君子Jun Zi hidup di dalam Tengah Sempurna (Zhong Yong); seorang 小人 Xiao Ren hidup menentang Tengah Sempurna.”
Chung-nî said, "The superior man embodies the course of the Mean; the mean man acts contrary to the course of the Mean. [Legge]
Confucius said: "The Superior Man actualizes the mean, the inferior man goes against it. [C. Muller]
促尼说：“君子实行的是不偏不倚、永恒不变的中庸之道，小人却声违反这中庸之道。[白话翻译]
君子之中庸也，君子而時中。
小人之中庸也，小人而無忌憚也。
2. “ Tengah Sempurnanya seorang Jun Zi ialah karena sepanjang waktu bersikap Tengah. Xiao Ren menentang Tengah Sempurna, karena Xiao Ren tiada sesuatu yang diseganinya.”
"The superior man's embodying the course of the Mean is because he is a superior man, and so always maintains the Mean. The mean man's acting contrary to the course of the Mean is because he is a mean man, and has no caution."[Legge]
The Superior Man actualizes the mean because he is always with it; the inferior man's contrarity is do to his heedlessness."[C. Muller]
君子实行中庸之道，君子时时刻刻合乎中庸；小人违反中庸之道，因为小人无所顾忌，无所畏惧。[白话翻译]
